Los galgos
Un cazador madrileño iba todos los años a cazar con sus galgos a Matapozuelos. Cuando cazaba en Madrid, los perros mataban casi todas las liebres. Pero cuando lo hacía en Matapozuelos, los galgos no cazaban ninguna. Cuando sus compañeros de cuadrilla le preguntaban cómo habían corrido los perros en Matapozuelos, él contestaba que los galgos se mareaban al pasar el puerto de Los Leones, y que por eso, no corrían detrás de las liebres. Un compañero de cuadrilla no se creyó el relato, y quedaron para subir un día los dos juntos. Ese día llegó, y los galgos de este cazador, que estaban muy bien entrenados, no cazaron ninguna liebre en Matapozuelos. De vuelta a casa, el compañero del cazador le aseguró: “Qué razón tenías, es verdad que los galgos se marean en el puerto de Los Leones y por eso no corren”.
The galgos
A hunter from Madrid went every year to hunt with his greyhounds to Matapozuelos. When he hunted in Madrid, the dogs slaughtered almost all the hares. However, when he hunted in Matapozuelos, the greyhounds didn’t hunt a single animal. When his fellows asked him how he dogs had run in Matapozuelos, he answered that the greyhounds felt sick when they went by the defile of Los Leones and that was why they didn’t run after the hares. A fellow didn’t believe the story and they arrange in going up the defile together. They day arrived, and the greyhounds of this hunter, which were very well instructed, didn’t hunt any hare in Matapozuelos. In their way back home, the fellow of the hunter affirmed: “you were right; it is true that the greyhounds get dizzy in the defile of Los Leones and that’s why they didn’t run”.
