The interrogatives

Type of words used for asking for information. They have a referential value, although the entity to which they make reference does not appear.

They always have a written accent.
They go before the verb.
In a direct interrogative sentence, they always go between the question marks (¿?).

When the interrogative needs a preposition, this one goes before: ¿De dónde vienes?

  • ¿Cómo se dice…? –> (How do yoy say?)
  • ¿Puedes repetir por favor? –> (Can you repeat please?)
  • ¿Cómo se escribe? –> (How is it spelled?)
  • Más despacio, por favor. –> (More slowly please)
  • No entiendo. –> (I dón´t understand)
